    Gymnastics is an excellent way for children to develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Through our programme they support each other, communicate effectively, and work towards common goals, fostering positive social relationships.

    Increase participation for ethnically diverse communities. 39% of residents in Pill are from a a non white background and 24.9% who are Muslim. We have a proven track record and will replicate sessions which consider the needs of this community.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Creating more opportunities for the children and adults of Pillgwenny and surrounding areas to participate in gymnastics and related activities. We currently run a small gymnastics club in Pill Millennium Centre with another Satellite in Community House on Eton Road. The sessions are currently full with 60 children participating with a waiting list. This project will see investment for new equipment which will allow more people to participate and increase delivery to more demographics.

  • Consulting with the community. Listening to their needs and providing direct action.

  • Establishing new partnerships particularly with Newport Live & Street Games to support activity.

  • Providing learning and development plans for the workforce so they can grow and develop.

  • Forging links with local education establishments to bridge curricular and extra curricular activity

  • Nurture children and young people to thrive in a non academic environment.
