Peak Empower HERO Project
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We run a series of recreational activities including art and music therapy for those who have additional mental and health needs and who are currently being home educated. Each session is 6 weeks long and is used as a way not only to educate young people in a range of non-core school subjects but also to help empower and give confidence to them to try new things and to be less socially isolated

    We have a range of children registered on this programme, some have been bullied at school, some have sensory needs and being in a traditional school environment doesn't meet their needs, some are young carers looking after sick family members

    We currrently reach 96 young people per year

Project Outcome Targets

To increase the number of young people we can help on our hero project

To increase the number of different sessions - branch out into dance, drama etc

To help provide support to those who want to go back to school part time

Project Activities

  • Run a series of inclusive clubs in Northamptonshire (golf, tennis, fishing, adventure etc)

  • Help those when they leave foster care to learn to budget, get work experience, write a CV, cook etc

  • Encourage women and girls into trying more sports through our mum & me programme

  • Help families who are struggling to come together to get healthy,

  • Run a series of online sessions in sports, cooking and wellbeing to help those still in isolation
