PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Charlie’s Star has been founded in memory of our son, Charlie Burns to provide fully funded respite breaks in Cornwall to bereaved families that have lost a child under the age of 19 and live in the South West of England.

  • The General Public / Mankind

    Any family that has lost a child under 19 years of age, living in the South West of England.

  • Number of beneficiaries - 5

    We aim to provide 5 family breaks per year.

Project Outcome Targets

Provide a safe bubble for bereaved families to recharge their batteries and make new memories.

Remove the financial burden of a holiday, most needed by the bereaved families.

Provide counselling and further signpost families to support agencies.

Project Activities

  • Provide adventurous activities by utilising BF Adventure in Penryn Cornwall.

  • Provide water sport activities by utilising Stithians Lake Watersport’s Centre in Cornwall.

  • Provide bereavement counselling utilising volunteers from Penhaligan’s Friends in Redruth.

  • Creating Hope and Smiles, at the worst time of their lives.
