ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Through the planning/organising of the following events (UC Reggae & Riddim festival, R&R official Launch event) and the many workshops and mini-events leading up to the 2024 UC R&R festival, young people will have the opportunity to engage in new forms of training and be educated in our rich Caribbean culture, combining art, dance and music. The events will be used as a medium which will ultimately raise a young person’s confidence and self-esteem by being involved and empowered.

Activity Actions

  • Festival Deco -creative arts & craft workshops to create material to go into R&R Festival decor

  • Costume design (Traditional wear)workshops to create outfits for dancers who perform on R&R stage

  • Dance Camp - run over 24 weeks to explore cultural educational expression.

  • The design, creation and installation of a large-scale mural in the main public area of the R&R fest

  • Flava, mini social event-young artists to gain recognition and grow in confidence/performing live
