NYCA Empowering Multilingual Communities: Bridging Education and Culture for All Ages in Newporty

    Young people aged 7-18 from our multilingual community, with 50% being from BAME heritage., where Arabic is the most common language spoken.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

NYCA will revolutionize community learning for Newport’s multilingual residents by offering accessible supplementary education in English/Welsh/other subjects (including Arabic) leading to GCSE qualifications and beyond. This initiative aims to bridge educational gaps/fostering inclusivity-cultural appreciation-lifelong learning opportunities. By collaborating with educational providers, we'll offer tailored support, empowering individuals to thrive academically/culturally.

  • Deliver 6 Language and cultural awareness campaigns.

  • Provide 36 Multilingual Educational Workshops.

  • Deliver 12 Cultural Exchange Workshops.

  • Provide 40 tutoring sessions to over 160 young people circles.

  • Develop partnerships with 12 local education providers, and develop positive pathways.
