    Our project will help adults aged 18+ living in poverty, who are referred by and are currently open to Newport Adult Social Services. Beneficiaries will be offered up to 12 counselling sessions for free through this service.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This counselling subsidy project will provide fully funded counselling sessions for individuals who are currently open to Adult Social Services. The project will remove financial barriers and ensure timely access to professional mental health support for those with complex or co-morbid needs. The service will improve wellbeing, help manage symptoms, and complement statutory care, alleviating pressures and demand on local social services.

Project Outcome Targets

Provide mental health support for 12 individuals identified & referred through Adult Social Services

Improved mental wellbeing in clients engaged on the project.

Improved confidence and a sense of empowerment from clients engaged on the project.

Project Activities

  • Create a project criteria & referral pathways for adult social services to refer clients to project

  • Project manager to assess referrals and allocate clients and track engagement of clients.

  • Counsellors will deliver up to 12 counselling sessions for each individual referred.

  • Counsellors to deliver Core-30 questionnaires to measure changes in wellbeing.

  • Counsellors to capture post-session qualitative evaluations to measure impact.
