Early Years and SEND
A total of ~100 families from two areas of Birmingham will be directly supported over 4 years. An additional 150 families will benefit due to peer to peer support; networking and work of expert parents.
Over four years we aim to support ~250 families
The project will test a package of support for children under 5 with SEND and their families to enable them to access their entitlements to early years support and education. We want to understand the barriers and which interventions increase families’ ability to secure their rights or challenge with confidence when these are not fulfilled. The project also aims to address the obstacles by supporting a group of expert parents to come together with professionals to change the policy landscape.

An independent evaluation will be commissioned and built in from the outset.
We are in conversation with them about how to develop an independent evaluation to be commisioned.
