PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The HVA supports people with genital herpes with physical and psychological advice.. (And shingles, but that's for a different project.) Once they are diagnosed they seek out help. Our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts help - but speaking to us on the helpline and having an 'email conversation' for personal advice and help is popular. However, how they are first treated and what information is given to them by the doctor or clinic staff can set the direction them head in...

Project Outcome Targets

Improve the life of all diagnosed with genital herpes

Improve the work satisfaction of the staff at clinics who are dealing with newly diagnosed people.

Improve the lives of all the families and friends of people diagnosed with genital herpes.

Project Activities

  • Design the 'crib sheet'. Content has been created by HVA and with staff at 3 sexual health clinics.

  • Print on laminated card

  • Call clinics around the UK (about 250) and get a name of a person who will be glad to receive cards

  • Post them.

  • After a month, phone to get feedback...
