PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We'll provide our Company and Team Programme experience for between 40-100 young people at 4 Newport schools. These unique programmes equip young people (including those with SEND) to develop entrepreneurial skills, build their financial capability and their readiness for the future world of work. In teams, they will set up and run real-life trading businesses, from market research to developing a business idea, marketing and selling their products to the public in person and online.

Project Outcome Targets

Up to 100 young people supported to develop entrepreneurial skills through Company/Team Programme

Project Activities

  • Launch project by recruiting partner schools in Newport, as soon as grant funding is confirmed.

  • Recruit, train and DBS check volunteers as business mentors to support the young people taking part.

  • Launch Company and Team Programme in the schools, getting teams underway early in Autumn term

  • Support teams to take part in seasonal Trade Fairs to sell directly to the public and online

  • Provide Pitch to the Panel sessions for teams to get constructive feedback from industry experts
