    As part of the commission we will ask Tudur to create an accesible show as well, which can visit community groups and ALN Schools.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We will commission performer,Tudur Phillips to create a lively,bespoke one-man show, through the medium of Welsh, exploring the rich history of Eisteddfod yr Urdd, designed especially for primary school children.Full of fun, facts,and interactive storytelling, the show will celebrate Welsh culture and creativity.It will tour schools across Newport, building excitement and engagement ahead of the Eisteddfod yr Urdd in 2027, and inspiring the next generation to perform and engage with the Urdd.

Project Outcome Targets

Celebrate local identity and welsh culture with the children of Newport.

Inspire children to take part in the Eisteddfod yr Urdd when it comes to Newport in 2027.

Give children a unique cultural experience to broaden horizons and spark curiosity.

Project Activities

  • Work closely with Tudur Phillips to develop a show which will showcase the history of the Eisteddfod

  • Engaging with schools to arrange showings and paricipation.

  • Tudur to perform the interactive shows at schools in Newport.

  • Encourage children to take part in this interactive show.

  • Evaluate the impact the show has on the children of Newport.
