PROJECT DESCRIPTION

An outdoor wellbeing and learning pilot supporting disabled people to work outside with animals or horticulture. Gaining skills, having fun and making friends

    adults with learning and physical disabilities who want to work outside at our smallholding and need support to do so

    we aim to reach 10 in year 1, increasing year on year

Project Outcome Targets

through outdoor activity people physical wellbeing will improve leading to more independence

through working with peers peoples mental wellbeing will improve leading to better self confidence

through increased social contact people will be enabled to build networks and make new friends

Project Activities

  • animal care, feeding, handling and walking, cleaning

  • horticulture, growing vegetables and flowers from seed, caring for the land

  • light site maintenance, fencing, natural art

  • collecting eggs and harvesting crops for own use and for sale

  • cooking with site produce
