PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Voyage matches disadvantaged young people to paid work experience opportunities in a range of sectors to help them develop their skills, network and aspirations. These young people don't have the connections or know-how to find these places themselves while they hugely benefit from the experience. They are prepared for the placements through CV, interview and get-ready-for-work training. Placements are best suited for the summer months.

Project Outcome Targets

Through work experience young people develop their skills, network and aspirations.

Improved employability for young people with low confidence and aspirations.

Meaningful work for young people who might otherwise struggle to access opportunities.

Project Activities

Recruitment of young people through our existing programmes and recruitment partners (schools, PRUs)
Liaising with a range of organisations who could offer work experience placements
Arrange pay with work experience partner (minimum London Living Wage) or other funding
Create training programme with partners for CV, interview and get-ready-for-work workshops
Deliver training programme.

VOLUNTEERING	Skilled professionals to mentor, train, and inspire young people during training sessions and work placements.	Flexible. Guests are always welcome to improve sessions, but are not always essential. Concept, 10 mentors, 4 speakers.	Flexible	Guest speakers help to inspire and train young people. Mentors help to support them in work and education.
MONEY	Financial support to cover training materials, staff time, and work placement logistics for young people.	£10000	Flexible	Enables the programme to train young people effectively and prepare them for their upcoming work placements.
