PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Voyage aims to establish a transformative Job Club for young people aged 16-21 in East London who are at risk of becoming NEET or have been involved with the criminal justice system. Hosted at New City College in Hackney, this initiative seeks to support over 100 disadvantaged youth annually, helping them to raise their aspirations, avoid criminal lifestyles and engage with the Horizons Youth Project for the Environment (HyPE) - an intensive course in renewable energy skills.

Project Outcome Targets

Transform negative attitudes and offending behaviours in a safe and supportive space

Equip participants with employment skills in renewable energy and other sectors

Participants are supported to create personal development plans with trackable goals

Project Activities

  • Recruitment of young people through our network of colleges and criminal justice partners.

  • Screening participants to create risk/vulnerability profiles and develop personal development plans

  • Structured programme of support: 121, mentoring, interventions challenging negative behaviours

  • Workshops in renewable energy skills, interview training, CVs, careers, all supported by our tutors.
