PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project will facilitate a series of courses and workshops to support mental health, wellbeing, and develop confidence in Duffryn, Newport. Course and workshop subjects will focus on creative and outdoor activities, confidence building and wellbeing, through a health and wellbeing pathway. This could lead to volunteering, employment or further education opportunities. The project will aim to engage Duffryn residents who are not currently accessing learning opportunities.

Project Outcome Targets

Improved access to health and wellbeing activities for a minimum of 100 adult learners.

Adult learners in Duffryn gain confidence, increase health and wellbeing through participation.

Learners follow a wellbeing programme which could lead to volunteering, employment or further study.

Project Activities

  • Liaise with community groups and services in Duffryn to reach new learners, increasing engagement.

  • Learners will increase their health and wellbeing through participating in courses and workshops.

  • Learners will increase their confidence through participation in a wellbeing pathway of activities.

  • Deliver a minimum of 4 accredited courses, 4 non-accredited courses and 20 workshops.
