Appropriate, bespoke equipment matters. It improves physical, mental and emotional health and increases social and financial inclusion. It reduces pain, improves postural alignment and strength and offers independence and access to new opportunities
Disabled children and young people around the UK
Disabled children and young people face huge inequalities to accessing appropriate equipment. We fund specialist mobility equipment nationally for disabled children and young people from birth to their 26th birthday. The equipment we fund is recommended by, but unavailable from, the NHS. This includes powered, manual and sports wheelchairs, specialist trikes and buggies, power assists, car seats, and walkers. Uniquely, we cover all repair and maintenance costs for equipment provided.
Also provides relief for the entire family and carers
All equipment is recorded by location, type and age group and anecdotal stories are shared
