ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

For every woman we provide a safe refuge to, there are 5 we can't due to no space. Refuge workers are crucial in supporting women & children. They work on the front-line in our refuges, to empower the can go on to live a life free from violence & abuse, using a trauma informed approach. From the start they will ensure travel arrangements to safety & ensure their ongoing to produce a support plan based on her priorities; all the way through to leaving refuge and getting her own front door

Activity goals

Support 90 women in refuge over a 12 month period

Support them in being able to become economically independent

Learn about Domestic Abuse to recognise signs & be able to make informed choices going forward

Activity Actions

  • Produce bespoke support plan based on theirs and their children's needs

  • Support any physical, mental or sexual health needs

  • Provide ongoing emotional support & counselling

  • Training around the types of abuse to equip them to make informed choices in future relationships

  • Social networking and/or re-bonding with family
