PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Trees are brilliant for people, wildlife and our planet and we urgently need to plant more. So together with the International Trees Foundation we’re giving away over 10,000 garden trees to people in Oxfordshire.

Beneficiaries

    Trees will be available on a first come first served basis to residents of Oxfordshire to plant in their private gardens. This year we aim to specifically reach more lower income households and minority groups.

Project Outcome Targets

Distribute 10,000 trees to households across all of Oxfordshire

Reach marginalised groups and households in less affluent areas

Engage the public with nature and grow our community of tree champions

Project Activities

  • Recruit at least 20 local distributors covering the five districts within the county.

  • Involve community larders and food banks across Oxfordshire to giveaway trees

  • Develop info sheets about the six tree species helping households choose appropriate trees

  • Engage with local councils and community organisations to support the project

  • Identify specific households to be provided with hedgerow packs (50 trees)
