In 2019, Opportunity launched its Youth Strategy, at the heart of which is a pilot based in Uganda. We have partnered with local NGOs and Financial Institutions to develop and test a package of innovative savings and credit products, financial literacy and agricultural training as well as entrepreneurship training. From Jan 2020 to April 2022, we aim to link young people to the formal financial services and give them skills needed to kickstart more profitable livelihoods and a brighter future.
This figure will be scaled up to 4560 in the second year.
Quantitative/qualitative research will be used to measure progress against the project's logframe.
SCBF have kindly donated funds to support the product development and testing.
A dedicated member of staff, known as the Youth Champion manages this project on behalf of OBUL.
TAMTF will train facilitators to build skills in entrepreneurship and business management.
Our partnership with HRNS gives us easy reach to young people in Mityana, Uganda.
