Action Change (Formally GVI Trust) Tackling Homeless Issues in South Africa
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our project offers a full 360 approach for young people on the streets that as drastically increased due to COVID. Providing a referral project for people to come to our centre for a hot meal or free item of clothing our peer workers and professionals engage to sign up these homeless to our rehabilitation and enterprise project while providing them a safe bed in our safe houses.

Project Outcome Targets

To provide a safe house for young homeless people

To help kick addiction of drugs and alcohol through a rehabilitation project

To retrain and provide skills for employment to residence

  • Outreach to engage homeless people to visit our shelter

  • Offering employment in the shelter, shops and ragging services for meals and clothing

  • Signing up Residents and adding them to the rehab program

  • Enterprise training and small stipend for graduates

  • Safe house for people on the change program
