    Opportunity to learn / improve Archery at low cost. All equipment, instruction and coaching provided. Enable young people living in a deprived area to try Archery without the associated costs of instruction and equipment as all is provided.

Project Outcome Targets

Try / Learn or improve Archery skills

Recognised sport - all body components used. Particularly improves hand/eye coordination

Improves patience, focus and confidence. Key life skills learnt in informal and fun setting.

Project Activities

  • Archery range safety discussion. Understand requirements and why they are needed

  • Archery - shooting arrows. Initially at paper targets. Then to burst balloons Then a scored round.

  • Mid session break. Topic of interest to young people - may be a video, talk or discussion.

  • Refreshments - for some reason the home-made cake brought in by one volunteer is exceedingly popular
