The wholecommunity look forward every year to taking part in the festival parade and the festival itself. It's an absolute community highlight. There is a huge cultural mix living in Maindee. 50 different languages are spoken at the school alone!
This include workshop, parade and festival activities
Maindee Festival is the only free annual community arts festival in Newport. This year our theme is Fresh Air and we'll be exploring issues around air pollution in Maindee and across Newport. Our community arts workshops, which will run throughout June in the run up to the event ,will create giant items for our carnival parade like clouds, hot air balloons and kites, while participants learn about the effect of air pollution and what's happening in Newport to address it.
