PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Action For Elders empowers older people to live healthier, more connected lives through our holistic Balanced Lives programme. We tackle loneliness, physical decline, and mental ill-health by building resilience and community. Our mission is to support positive ageing and reduce pressure on health and social care systems by providing early, preventative support that helps older adults thrive.

Project Outcome Targets

Improve older people's physical, mental, and social wellbeing through holistic support.

Reduce loneliness and isolation by building strong community connections and peer networks.

Promote positive ageing and resilience to help older adults live independently for longer.

Project Activities

  • Delivering weekly Balanced Lives sessions focused on movement, mindfulness, and social connection.

  • Hosting Warm Hubs offering safe, social spaces and cost-of-living support for older adults.

  • Partnering with GPs and Link Workers to reach isolated individuals needing preventative support.

  • Training volunteers to support peer engagement and reduce loneliness in local communities.

  • Running awareness campaigns to challenge ageism and promote positive perceptions of ageing.
