ARCh Reading Helpers needed for one hour a week
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our Reading Helpers go into a local primary school for one hour a week to support children with reading, confidence and well-being. Our Reading Helpers are trained, given all resources, and spend one hour a week over the course of a year giving a child 1:1 attention and giving them a safe space to thrive!

Project Outcome Targets

To support children with reading and inspire a love of reading that will last a lifetime

To give staff a voluntary opportunity that will inspire them and increase their wellbeing

To give children a safe space to develop their speech, language and overall literacy skills

Project Activities

  • 1:1 reading sessions in a local primary school once a week (term time only)

  • Volunteer meetings 3 times a year with speakers such as authors and education experts

  • Coffee mornings and book exchanges to meet other volunteers and be part of the ARCh community
