The Scholars Programme
Students aged 8-18 in non-selective state schools, meeting one of our targeting criteria linked to underrepresentation at competitive universities: - bottom 40% most deprived postcodes - eligible for free school meals - first generation university
Students from disadvantaged backgrounds
The benefits of attending a competitive university can be truly life changing, with graduates benefitting from increased earnings, career opportunities and life satisfaction. But access to the most competitive universities is not equal. On The Scholars Programme, less advantaged state school students aged 8-18 develop the knowledge, skills and confidence that they need to access and succeed at the most competitive universities through projects in STEM, arts and humanities and social sciences.
