Africa's Gift Petite lean charity seeks heavy energy user for long term relationship...

Beneficiaries

  • Children / Young People

Community members currently trapped in the drudgery of cutting & carrying wood & harvesting of water & young girls unable to go to school as they must cook the daily meal. They now become free of time poverty & attend school & thrive!

  • Nature

Huge amounts of wood are burned each day to keep traditional open fires boiling away litres & litres of water every meal time. Cooking with the heat retention cooking bag 80% of water & 75% of wood is saved. 1.6 tons of CO2 saved per bag per year.

  • Nature

With much less demand for fuel wood & the cessation of aggressive harvesting habitats stabilize & rehabilitate when the poacher turns game keeper & the ladies are rewarded to become tree planters & stewards! See our Trees4Africa project!

  • The General Public / Mankind

In 2020 a staggering 3 billion people cook on an open fire every day. Inhaling the smoke from cooking the daily meal is hugely hazardous, it kills a person every 20 seconds & smoke is the biggest cause of blindness. Wonderbags reduce smoke amazingly

  • Reach of your work

The power of this work is that it is scalable & restorative.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Africa's Gift work with communities in central, east & southern Africa reducing tons of CO2 being released & fatal smoke being ingested by introducing a heat retention cooking bag. The Wonderbag (UN. CDM cert) transforms the cook's week, uses a fraction of the wood & water traditional cooking methods use & saves over 1 ton of CO2 a year. We seek a partner who wishes to offset & sequestrate their CO2 by transforming THEIR Wonderbag enabled cooks into tree planters, nurturers & habitat custodians
