    Educational activities will benefit all 16k Newport residents ensuring they are well-prepared and knowledgeable about the short and long term aims of this work, and why it is so important as we all have a part to play in realising the ambition.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Antiracism training in the community run seasonally 4 times a year to help realise the antiracist Wales ambition 2030. A free drop in clinic for members of the public to attend. This will help inform all Newport residents about the importance of the ambition which is aligned to Newport's ambition to become a city of sanctuary. Each individual who completes the training will be provided with a certification and have access to our Newport multicultural hub which has resources and helpful advice.

Activity goals

To inform and empower members of the public about the changing landscape in Wales & their role in it

To galvanise support from all groups in Newport of all ethnicities. Create diversity of thought.

To create a sense of belonging and Cynefin within Newport as an aspiring city of sanctuary.

Activity Actions

  • To conduct 4x training sessions throughout the year with certifications upon successful completion.

  • To have 4 drop in info clinics throughout the year within the hub where we provide support & advice.

  • To simulate the antiracism.wales metaverse for attendees to gain a better understanding of resource.

  • To network and bring communities together to form strong long lasting bonds and community cohesion.

  • To promote Welsh Language & culture in line with the WG's 2050 Welsh language agenda.
