PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Care workers, despite their vital role in society, often face undervaluation, financial instability, and demanding work schedules. Recognising the inherent stress in care work, we've partnered with Red Umbrella to provide Mental Health First Aider Training for care workers. This initiative equips individuals with a nationally recognised qualification and it provides wider support within teams by enabling trained individuals to share their knowledge and support their peers.

Project Outcome Targets

Increases awareness of mental health issues in organisations by training care workers.

Have at least one trained Mental Health First Aider in each Social Care setting.

Recognise the inherent stress in care work and ensure that care workers are adequately supported.

Project Activities

  • The first aid certificate is valid for three years, strengthening the care workforce in the UK.

  • To facilitate comprehensive mental health training, and professional development for care workers.

  • Enabling trained care workers to then share their knowledge and support their peers.

  • For care workers to recognise, address, and support mental health challenges in the workplace.

  • Create healthier, more resilient workplaces and support long-term employee wellbeing in social care.
