Brightside Connect - Peninsular – Plymouth, Truro and Exeter
Brightside Connect supports disadvantaged 16-18 year-olds, who are most at risk of becoming NEET, focusing on schools in social mobility cold spots, such as remote rural and coastal areas, and former industrial areas. We'll connect these young people, from two schools in Plymouth, with inspirational role models, to support them to make more confident and informed decisions about their future. With their mentor's support, they’ll develop skills and confidence, and understand more about their next steps making them more likely to progress into positive career or education outcomes.
Disadvantaged young people who are more at risk of becoming NEET, based on where they live, their household income, or other characteristics that mean they're typically underrepresented in education or professional settings.
We'll work with 200 young people throughout the year.
