PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Drag'n Dance is a bold, joyful new project led by The Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre in Newport, offering weekly inclusive dance sessions and creative workshops for adults with additional learning needs (ALN). The programme leads to a shared celebratory stage performance on 13th December 2025 with the House of Deviants drag troupe. This project champions equity, creativity, and visibility.

Project Outcome Targets

Increase access to high-quality arts activities for ALN adults in Newport

Support 25 adults to develop skills and confidence in dance and performance

Build stronger partnerships and visibility around inclusive arts in Newport

  • Weekly dance sessions led by inclusive facilitators

  • Four bespoke “Dragma” performance & costume workshops with the Queens

  • Outreach via housing and support organisations to recruit participants

  • Sound, lighting, and backstage training for ALN participants

  • Community attendance support and safe transport via Gig Buddies
