    The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre has a remit to bring culture and arts to the residents of Newport. The volunteers will have the opportunity to share this culture with the people of Newport

  • Adults

    The individuals recruited to the volunteer roles will benefit by increasing in confidence, developing new skills, forming new friendships, improved mental wellbeing. The opportunities will give them a sense of purpose

  • The General Public / Mankind

    Children, adults, people with disabilities, will all benefit from the volunteers who support the coaching and delivery of sporting and physical activities within the Newport Live Leisure facilities.

  • Number of beneficiaries - 50

    Vols will support city wide events & sporting sessions.

  • Reach of your work

    City wide events could attract outside people to the city.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Create a community of volunteers to support the varied City wide events and programmes of Newport Live. These would include the large cultural and artistic events and the sporting events that take place within Newport each year. A second volunteering opportunity would see Volunteers being deployed to support Sporting and physical activity programmes within the Leisure facilities.

Create a Volunteer Programme for the Newport Live portfolio

Engage with 50+ volunteers

Train and Deploy 80% of volunteers into suitable activities.

Project Activities

  • Volunteer recruitment event, to circulate volunteering opportunities and attract new volunteers.

  • Induction Training for staff mentors and volunteers.

  • Deploy volunteers at City wide events including Lunar New Year, Inter Women's Day, St David's Day.

  • Deploy volunteers at sport and art activities within Newport Live facilities
