PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Founded by Prof. Gatrad, World Against Single Use Plastic (WASUP) aims to raise awareness about climate change and the consequences of using plastics. Prof. Gatrad is extremely passionate about environmental conservation and working with students. This programme is designed to run in a cycle of 4 months, targeting the year groups 5-8, while simultaneously engaging with the larger communities for long-term sustainable impact.

Project Outcome Targets

Raising awareness about climate change, environment, air pollution and deforestation

The community shall come together to pick up litter in the area & invest in reusable products

Advocating for reducing the manufacturing and consumption of single-use plastic

Project Activities

  • Students are educated about sustainability & its importance through hands-on learning activities

  • Awareness about climate change is built by teaching about greenhouse gasses and air pollution

  • Students shall be engaged in recycling projects to encourage innovation and learning
