    50% of waste electricals could be reused. 22 million devices languish unused in people's homes. It takes 1,200kg of Earth's resources to create one 2k laptop. Making it easy for people to safely reuse tech is a vital way to protect Earth's resources.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Tech-Takeback creates circular, sustainable communities for good. Pre-Christmas tech collection and engagement events allow residents and SMEs to safely donate unwanted – but socially valuable – tech to local people who in need. Viable tech is expertly data erased, repaired & refurbished and donated back to digitally excluded people (Internet access and digital skills training included). By engaging the whole community, we create pathways for long-term circular and digital inclusion projects.

Project Outcome Targets

Reduce digital exclusion in local communities via refurbished devices, Internet and skills training

Save reusable laptops from becoming waste using pop-up collections and secure tech-drop boxes.
