ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

The fashion industry is notoriously mysterious and secretive, which often makes it an inaccessible career choice for many talented young creatives. Commuknitty Podcast is the guidance counsellor you never had. Through open conversations between young creatives and fashion industry professionals from diverse backgrounds, we will provide realistic insight into a wide variety job roles, what they actually entail and an understanding of the skills needed.

Activity goals

Reach young creative people in remote areas of the UK who have less access to traditional networking

Provide insight into the wide range of job roles in the fashion industry and what the jobs entail

Showcase fashion professionals from diverse/underprivileged backgrounds that listeners can relate to

Activity Actions

  • Give listeners the chance to interview their fashion heroes through competitions

  • Give listeners the opportunity to ask fashion professionals questions on the podcast

  • Train 1-2 young person to regularly produce and edit the podcast and interview the guests
