Cook, Learn, Earn – Duffryn
Young people in Duffryn will benefit through practical cooking and life skills sessions that build confidence, teamwork, and healthier habits, helping them develop positive routines and early pathways toward training, volunteering, or employment.
Residents facing financial hardship will gain affordable cooking skills, access to healthy meals, and budgeting knowledge, helping them reduce food costs, improve nutrition, and strengthen resilience during the cost-of-living crisis.
Unemployed adults will receive hands-on catering training, food hygiene certification, and mentoring, helping them build confidence and skills that support pathways into volunteering, training, or employment in the food and hospitality sector

Cook, Learn, Earn – Duffryn is a 12-week community training programme for Duffryn residents. Participants will attend weekly hands-on cooking and food enterprise workshops, gain Level 2 Food Hygiene certification, and learn budgeting, catering, and employability skills. Delivered through small group sessions and mentoring, the project aims to improve confidence, reduce food poverty, and create pathways into volunteering, catering work, or small food businesses.
