PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Digital access is now essential for employment,education,healthcare, and community participation.However,many residents in Duffryn such as older residents,low-income households,people with disability face barriers including lack of devices, limited digital skills. Duffryn Digital Bridge will tackle digital exclusion by providing free digital skills workshops, free refurbished but quality devices, digital support sessions for older adults and low-income families, youth-led digital mentoring, access to online services (job search, benefits, health appointments). The project aligns with the No One Left Behind Duffryn 2026 vision by strengthening community resilience, inclusion, and opportunity

Beneficiaries

  • Children / Young People

    Training opportunities for young people about online safety, build confidence in booking GP appointments online, search online job platforms and be youth digital mentors to support older residents with technology.

  • Elderly / Old People

    Provide structured and digital skills training to older residents, digital access support One-to-one sessions helping older residents book GP appointments online, food shopping

  • People with Disabilities

    Establish a community digital hub accessible to all residents, digital support for residents with a disability into employment, training, or education pathways. train them on how to access health services online

  • The General Public / Mankind

    Digital confidence and online safety will improve across the Duffryn community, long-term digital support infrastructure will be established. Volunteer groups residents will help design workshop topics and co-deliver support

Project Activities

  • Digital Skills Workshops 6-week courses on Basic computer skills,internet safety,online job search

  • Youth Digital Mentors Local young people will be trained to support older residents with technology.

  • Community Digital weekly drop-in hub offering: Device access, assistance with online forms,free wifi

  • Digital One-to-one sessions to support older residents with GP and other NHS online appointments

  • Provide refurbished laptops/tablets to residents who complete the training programme.
