PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The club is growing significantly, becoming a community asset, working in the most deprived and disadvantaged communities in Newport. The club attracts members - children, young people and families from across Newport and have a greater demand for the needs placed upon the club, coaches and volunteers. We are trying to overcome barriers to sport, whilst providing volunteering pathways and investment in coaching qualifications and skills. We are looking to grow our club membership even further.

Project Outcome Targets

Increasing participation/membership for children and young people, focusing on younger age groups

Upskilling of Coaches/Increase of volunteers, providing pathways, training and development.

Increasing participation of a Girls Focused Programme, overcoming barriers to sport.

Project Activities

  • Establishment of a Footie Families Programme - Children aged 18 months to 5.

  • Junior Football Programme U6s to U10s

  • Youth Football Programme U11s to U16s

  • Girls Only Programme U15 Girls U9s Girls

  • Community Events & Partnership Working with events planned for 2026, with scope for further events

PRODUCTS The club requires further equipment to grow the number of current teams, to meet the needs of players wanting to join. Goals - X5 Footballs - x20 sets of 10 balls (multiple sizes) Bibs - x50 Mannequins - x20 Additional Equipment 01/08/2025 We are able to increase the numbers of teams, which increases the number of membership ops/volunteering.
SKILLS We are required to comply with National Governing Body Qualifications to support our coach development. FAW Football Leaders - x10 FAW First Aid - x15 FAW Safeguarding - x15 FAW C Licence - X10 30/08/2025 Upskill coaches/comply with league and NGB Regs = qualified coaches to deliver more sessions to more members.
