PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Future Ready empowers people in our community—especially young people (16–25), unemployed adults, and those facing barriers to work—to gain future-proof skills in digital literacy, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Through practical training and mentoring, the project will help participants build confidence, improve employability, and engage in environmentally responsible practices that strengthen local resilience.

Project Outcome Targets

Equip at least 100 participants with essential digital skills—such as computer use, online safety.

Train 100+ participants in environmentally friendly practices (e.g. recycling)

Create a peer-mentoring network where trained participants become community ambassadors, delivering

Project Activities

  • Digital Mondays – weekly drop-in digital skills sessions (basic IT, online safety, job search tools)

  • Green Skills Saturdays – workshops in recycling, upcycling, energy efficiency, and urban gardening.

  • Future Bootcamp – a 6-week intensive combining tech training, soft skills, and entrepreneurship

  • Career & Enterprise Fair, Event connecting participants with local employers, mentors, and training

  • Increased employability, Number completing CVs, interviews, or job applications
