Beneficiaries

  • Children / Young People

    Educating parents on sustainable, low cost & healthy food improves the health & wellebing of children. Children on walks can learn about nature in a way that is not taught in schools, learn to appreciate & respect nature, in a safe environment

  • Adults

    Adults can learn about foraging & wild food in person, which will help them reduce isolation & risk of MH issues, make new friends, learn new skills, help with their living costs, improve & physical health through exercise.

  • The General Public / Mankind

    Through the year we will aim to gain more members, & this includes sharing knowledge with any public we run into at group walks. Litter picking will take place on walks to give back to nature & improve green spaces for everyone to use.

  • Elderly / Old People

    All routes will take into consideration the abilities of older people & can be tailored to include them. Older people can feel part of a community & make new friends, gain knowlege or re-spark memories, try new things & learn new skills.

  • Nature

    We will teach members about how to care for & respect nature, how to appreciate the beauty of our wild heritage. Litter picking will take place on walks to give back to nature, benefit wildlife, improve green spaces for everyone to use.

  • People with Disabilities

    Many walks will be accessible for those with dissabilties & can include travel arrangements when needed to accomodate them. Disabled people can feel part of the community, learn about foraging & find out what is in their own back garden

  • People Of A Particular Ethnic Or Racial Origin

    We will endeavour to encourage people from minority ethnic & diverse backgrounds to join the group & be part of our community. This will involve posters/flyers/ads in community centers & places that can reach those who would not usually find our grou

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

We will hold monthly group walks in the outdoors offer members the opportunity to learn foraging & identification skills in person, & at the same time build friendships, get healthy via exercise & enjoy nature. Each walk will be in a different location & offer new experiences, with different wild food & new skills to learn. Through the year we will focus on different wild food available each season, learning what's accessible in member's local areas & what can be made with it. Years 2024 & 25
