PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Newport Talent Show is a community-led initiative designed to celebrate the incredible talents found within Newport's diverse community. The aim is to spread joy, promote unity, and empower individuals of all ages to showcase their gifts in a safe, uplifting environment. By celebrating creativity, cultural expression, and entertainment, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and possibility. The show will cover the rich tapestry of heritage & diversity that exists in Newport.

Beneficiaries

  • Children / Young People

    Young people, local performers, underrepresented communities, and Newport residents through inclusion and cultural pride. Young people gain confidence, showcase talent, build skills, connect with peers, and access creative opportunities.

  • Community

    The community will benefit by fostering unity and cultural pride, increasing local engagement, supporting diverse voices, and creating a vibrant, inclusive space for celebration. This strengthens social cohesion and promotes understanding.

  • Artists & cultural participants

    The project benefits artists & cultural participants by offering performance opportunities, enhancing visibility, and fostering professional growth. It encourages networking, skill development, and creative collaboration, helping to build confidence.

Project Activities

  • Host talent show auditions to select diverse performers from Newport’s youth and local communities.

  • Conduct creative workshops on performance skills, confidence building, and cultural storytelling.

  • Organize rehearsals with mentors to prepare participants for the live talent show event.

  • Promote the event through social media, local press, and community outreach to boost attendance.

  • Hold the live talent show showcasing youth and community talent, celebrating diversity & creativity
