    Aims to provide a safe space for the younger and older generation to network and find commonalities - interests, goals & aspirations. Help plug the widening gap between the older and younger generation and allow them to build long lasting relations.

  • Children / Young People

    Aims to provide a safe space for the younger generation to network and hear about the challenges the older generation faced when they came to Newport. This will help personal relatedness and build strong relations between the generations -role models

  • The General Public / Mankind

    The project will bring community cohesion with Newport residents of all ages while buiding united and resilient communities. Civic participation among old and young generation while celebrating diversity and differences and combatting ageism.

  • Number of beneficiaries - 5000

    The project will reach 160k people of Wales.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Youth and Adult Project (15years - 85 Years) Speed dating between young and old to learn about culture (Summer 2024). This is the only integenerational project in Newport. We will aim to put on physical activiItes which are not common especially to Black , Asian and ethnic minorities, for example walks in the woods including foraging , litter picking, crafts etc. The money will go towards transport to the woods, foraging and crafts materiahe le, foot wear & clothing for families.

Activity goals

Generational Speed dating between young and old to learn about culture and lived experiences.

Encourage and promote ethnic minorities to visit green spaces and to be environmentally friendly.

Collect lived experiences of the older and younger generations and share it with other professionals

Activity Actions

  • Generational Speed dating (like musical chairs) where each participant gets to speak with up to 3ppl

  • General debate about how to bridge the cultural divide and current affairs impacting youth and older

  • Promote Wellbeing activities such as meditation, yoga and pilates at stalls

  • Promote local businesses via stalls that support Youth and elderly engagement activities in Newport.

  • Diverse food stalls to allow tasters and showcase small diverse businesses in Newport. Promote arts.
