    Train 5 trainee stylists in a VTCT Level 3 & 2 diploma in L2 & L3 women’s combined hairdressing - 640 hours over 30 weeks and we will also provide educational resources to community leaders in schools and organisations on anti-hair discrimination.

    We will post call outs via our socials to promote the training and we will also work with community members to equipping people with the skills that they’ll need to get by, employability skills, clarity on misinformation around professional hair.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Hair Show project is more than a community academy—it's a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity, and confidence. We're creating an immersive experience that showcases the artistry, innovation, and heritage of Afro-textured hair. Through live demonstrations, expert panels, fashion, and community engagement, we’re empowering individuals to embrace their natural beauty and educating the wider public about the rich history and future of Black hair culture.

Project Outcome Targets

Train 5 trainee stylists on an accredited VTCT L2 & L3 in women’s combined hairdressing

Deliver 4x antiracism metaverse workshops/focus groups in schools/organisations as a learning space

Hold 1x cumulative Afro hair Roadshow where qualified trainees can exhibit their final hair expo

Project Activities

  • Sharing resources to community leaders; e.g. Headteachers in Wales about Halo Code

  • Host impact sessions and drop in surgeries with community leaders after resource sharing as check-in

  • Train 5 participants to complete 640 hours over 30 weeks in women’s combined hairdressing course

  • Culminate the project with an Afro Hair social event to showcase the progress of the trainees skills

  • Deliver decolonised hair & beauty content in schools & organisations as a learning space
