This project will establish a mental health club for African men in Newport to provide them with a platform of support, to share and express their feelings without fear of being judged or stigmatised. Health professionals will be used in this session
Our themed educational mental health and the creative day will empower young people to know more about mental health, and how to seek support without feeling ashamed. This will boost confidence and build peer support and empathy among young people.
Our chat forum for the elderly will create a safe space where elderly people can share their lived experiences, and assist them learn and unlearn cultural and religious myths about mental health. This will tackle isolation and vulnerability.
The Mental Health Awareness Day will contribute to promoting a better understanding of mental health and well-being, tackling biases, and stigma associated with it.
