PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The C3 Centre for Creativity & Culture CIC uses Culture/Creativity as tools of wellbeing and community. This is a project that uses diverse mediums of expression & cross-genre literary expressions to address wellbeing. Central to the execution of this project is culture & creativity as tools for community cohesion, addressing isolation, trauma and loss of identity orchestrated by migration. We want our audience to see a bit of themselves in our dances, instrumentation, strorytelling and poetry.

    Family-themed presentations where youths & their parents can participate & enjoy making memories & creating defining moments that will strengthen family bonds, ensure the overall wellbeing of children and families, & engender healthy connections.

Project Outcome Targets

Build strong Community using creative/cultural arts that is immersive/participatory for the audience

Engender cultural competency through fun and recreational activities for all ages and families.

Ensure transferability of cultural skills such drumming/storytelling & foster generational knowledge

Project Activities

  • We have delivered cultural activities across venues and events in Newport for Newport residents.

  • We have use poetry to promote hair shows and instill confidence and body positivity in Newport.

  • As a Mobile theatre, we have defied the barriers of physical spaces and used diverse venues for arts

  • We've created platforms for creative individuals & young people to find their voices and expression.

  • We're dedicated to using creativity as tool for community cohesion, wellbeing & confidence building.
