Enabling our young people to work with BC through visits, performances, & weekly sessions has developed their skills, abilities, & confidence. Our dance leaders have had opportunity to learn different delivery styles & increase safe practices.
Ballet Cymru work with around 8000 children & young people (CYP) each year through various programmes. Experiencing dance & the arts can be life-changing, & for CYP to work with our diverse group of professional dancers is hugely aspirational.
Ballet Cymru works with disabled professional dancers, participants, & audiences -advocating for inclusion and creating safe & welcoming spaces for disabled people through our inclusive engagement programme & relaxed performances is vital.
Ballet Cymru is proud to live in a multicultural city, and our work through our Community Dance Days and with Roma communities helps us to connect with particular races of people who often feel marginalised or excluded.
Ballet Cymru regularly work with charities in Newport & beyond. Partnerships with Newport MIND, Race Council Cymru, Sparkle & the Riverfront (to name a few) allow for sharing, & the widening of skills, learning, & reach.
Working with adults runs though many aspects of Ballet Cymru’s work including our Adult Dance Intensives, Community Dance Days, our Dance and Health project – Dance to Move, as well as the work we do with our professional dancers.
Ballet Cymru have an open-door policy, so our work is open to all – class, rehearsals & performances. We host accessible performances, & run participation programmes that are open to all. We encourage our base in Rogerstone to be a community space.

To positively contribute to the cultural & arts provision of Newport, & to use our local, national, & international profile to champion & celebrate Newport.
To challenge negative perceptions of dance & the arts by advocating for equity & inclusion, & for our professional dancers to represent the world around us.
To ensure our outreach work addresses challenges & barriers to participation- that we create safe spaces for all people to engage with our work.
To reach more marginalised & protected groups in Newport through tailored initiatives- making our work relevant to them & allowing them to feel welcome.
That our advocacy for equity & inclusion feeds into every aspect of Ballet Cymru, & that we work with likeminded partners.
Enabling our young people to work with BC through visits, performances, & weekly sessions has developed their skills, abilities, & confidence. Our dance leaders have had opportunity to learn different delivery styles & increase safe practices.
Our partnership with Ballet Cymru (BC) has inspired so many pupils through whole school workshops & visits to The Riverfront & BC studios. It has widened experiences, challenged stereotypes & promoted positive role models.
