Our History

  • MediCinema has built and run cinemas in Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals in London, Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow & Serennu Children’s Centre in Newport, South Wales. We have provided over 230,000 cinema experiences to sick children and adults, helping them feel better with film.

Beneficiaries

  • Children / Young People

    We hold many screenings for children & young people, who can attend with their families, giving everyone the opportunity for a shared experience away from the intensity of the wards and their illnesses, forming long lasting positive memories.

  • People with Disabilities

    Once approved by ward staff, anyone in hospital for any length of stay can visit and benefit from a trip to a MediCinema which has space for hospital beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment.

  • Adults

    Patients of all ages can visit a MediCinema in their hospital bed, wheelchair or with medical equipment. The shared cinema experience helps patients regain a sense of normality, feel less alone & connect with others, improving their wellbeing,
