Our History

  • Life Education in Wessex & Thames Valley is an independent charity delivering the UK's leading emotional health, well-being and drug prevention education programme to children (aged 3 to 11) attending local primary schools. Having been established for over 25 years we now reach 84,000 children every year with our message of healthy living.

Areas of Operation

  • England: Somerset

Beneficiaries

  • The General Public / Mankind

Our early intervention education programmes, benefit the wider community by reducing crime and anti-social behaviour as well as the need of public services, including the NHS and criminal justice system.

  • Children / Young People

Children face growing pressures at home, at school and with friends to damage their health and their futures through risky behaviours. We empower children to make healthy choices to keep safe, healthy and happy.

Our Vision for a better future

  • Our mission is to inspire children and young people to make healthy choices, helping them to avoid risky behaviours that can damage their health and their futures. We want to support children to have better health and emotional well-being so that they do better in life, stay safe, and reach their potential, both academically and socially.

Our goals to make a difference

  • Increase children's ability to make healthy choices and keep safe, both online and in the real world

  • Build confidence & self esteem, learn skills & strategies to deal with bullying/peer group pressure

  • Support children with their emotional & mental health and wellbeing and how to manage their feelings

  • Giving children the knowledge, skills and confidence to avoid risky behaviours and substance abuse

  • Help reduce crime/anti-social behaviour as well as the need of public services, including the NHS
