Our History

  • The Maindee Festival Association was formed in 1997 to promote and celebrate the diversity of the people who live and work in the Maindee area of Newport, South Wales. We organise the annual Maindee Festival, held in July, and use arts and environmental activities to bring together people of different ethnicity and cultural background, age, ability

    Children and adults living in the Victoria ward area of Newport. Parts of our ward normally feature on the top 10 index of multiple deprivation, It is a transient multicultural community with higher than average levels of economic inactivity.

Our Vision for a better future

  • Our key goals are to ensure that there is a free community arts festival in Newport each year. We come together to build a sense of belonging and community, breaking down cultural barriers and building bridges. We have always been championing green issues long before it was on the political agenda. We will continue this work, and evolve as we learn

Our goals to make a difference
