Thank you for allowing me to volunteer with yourselves. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't be in the position I am now. You're like family to me.
We work with young people 6 - 25 years living in and around Maindee, Newport. We offer 5 night a week youth and play clubs, music studio, support, volunteering, youth forum, single gender work and trips.
We offer opportunities for everyone from volunteering to social groups, and the use of our peace garden for events and activities.
We support older people's friendship groups to run. These offer leisure, arts and cultural activities to their participants.
The majority of our participants are from diverse ethnic backgrounds including people of Czech, Slovac and Romanian Roma, South Asian and White Welsh heritage.
A number of religious communities and groups, from a range of faiths, make use of Community House as it is seen as a safe, multifaith space which is tolerant and welcoming of all.
Families in need access our Bundles Baby bank where we provide pre loved clothes and equipment and offer emotional and practical support, pre and post birth and with families with young children.
We offer space in the building to groups who contribute to supporting and strengthening community, acting as a thoughtful landlord, and supporting connections between people who rent space and provide activities and support.
As we are based in an area with high socio economic needs we work with many people experiencing poverty and for whom life is challenging. We offer food based projects, advice, practical support and signposting.

Description:
An article celebrating our partnership work in Newport
For young people to have fun in a safe place, free from judgement or oppression.
To enable people from diverse backgrounds to build connections, and care for one another.
To support the wider community when they need it, and encourage young people to do the same.
To be inclusive and accessible whilst breaking down barriers between people, and addressing barriers that people face.
To give young people self determination and self discipline, to enable them to overcome adversity.
Thank you for allowing me to volunteer with yourselves. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't be in the position I am now. You're like family to me.
