Our History

  • Founded in 2011, Action For Elders was created to address the challenges of an ageing population. We pioneered the Balanced Lives programme—an evidence-based, holistic model promoting physical, mental, and social wellbeing. We support older people to live independently, age positively, and stay connected.

Beneficiaries

  • Elderly / Old People

Our beneficiaries are older people aged 50+, particularly those facing isolation, poor health, or financial hardship. We focus on those most at risk, including individuals who are marginalised, living alone, or without access to formal support.

Our Vision for a better future

  • Our vision is a society where older people are valued, connected, and empowered to live healthier, more independent lives. We aim to lead a national shift in attitudes to ageing—promoting resilience, dignity, and purpose through person-centred, preventative support rooted in community.

Our goals to make a difference

  • Enhance wellbeing – Support older people to improve their physical and mental health through tailored, evidence-based programmes like Balanced Lives.

  • Combat loneliness – Reduce isolation by creating safe, inclusive spaces where older adults can build meaningful social connections

  • Empower resilience – Help individuals regain confidence, independence, and control over their lives by focusing on their strengths and personal goals.

  • Shift perceptions – Challenge ageism by promoting positive ageing through campaigns and education, encouraging society to value older people's contributions.

  • Strengthen communities – Work in partnership with local networks to deliver preventative, person-led services that reduce demand on overstretched health systems
