Our History

  • The Silverlining Brain Injury Charity was founded in 2007 and has had a profound impact on the lives of its many members over the years. Since then, it had gone from strength to strength widening its reach almost ten-fold. Our charity is run by a group of like-minded people who aim to improve the life quality of all those affected by brain injury.

Beneficiaries

  • The General Public / Mankind

Since the pandemic, the number of people accessing our help for mental health related issues rose from a few 100 to 6,000+. Our doors are open to anyone expressing more general Mental Health difficulties as well as specific neurological challenges.

  • People with Disabilities

Our service users include the brain injured as well as their family members and friends who are often overlooked despite the effects brain injury can have on loved ones.

Our Vision for a better future

  • To unite, engage and rehabilitate all those affected by brain injury with positivity, purpose and advocacy in their local communities and beyond. As well as making new friends and finding renewed confidence, from taking part in countless activities, our Silverliners become active volunteers within the community, supporting local concerns.

Our goals to make a difference

  • Facilitate meetings where members can discuss activities, exchange advice, and support one another

  • Run social activities to help members to develop key skills and take ownership of projects

  • Seasonable opportunities for members to experience something new, break boundaries & expand networks

  • Arranging and facilitating inspirational educational initiatives developed and presented by members

  • To offer the clinical benefits of continued and collaborative physical and cognitive rehabilitation
